Food was fantastic at a good price. Evi was the best server we had on our trip to Kennewick.
-

Delicious Mexican food ?
-
Really good margaritas! Food and the salsa are always great.
The service is always good staff very nice! Will go back again and again. -
Good service and a tasty lunch. The restaurant could certainly hold a crowd though it's unusual location probably hinders it's success. From the inside I could tell the windows had been painted facing Columbia Center Blvd though I had never noticed the building before.
The interior was clean and not too loud, though there was only a handful of tables in use at the time.
One odd thing that I won't ding their rating for, all the TV's in the place have their energy star rating taped to the screen. Very strange, if they really want the rating there they could have at least taped them so they didn't cover the screen.
-
Great food and generous portions at a moderate price. What really topped it off was the great service. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They even had a kids Birthday Party and they were having a blast, Sombreros and all.
-
Nice little, hidden, local gem. My wife and I come here all the time on lunch dates. The food is wonderful, the ambience is fun, the drinks are delicious and the service is excellent. We somehow always get Mercedez as our server and she does an exceptional job.
-
Friendly staff, they didnt invade your table to often checking on you, my drinks were always filled. 4 stars because they had a couple mistakes, like we wanted a chicken taco salad but they brought a beef one. Overall great experience.
-
The best...great staff and great food. Real, authentic Mexican food...5 stars all the way!
-
The reviews about the service being tops and the food being very fresh and (seems) authentic are spot on!! The chips and salsa come right as you sit down and they are delicious! (There are two heat settings on the salsa. The "medium" has a kick and the mild was well seasoned with fresh cilantro, tomatoes and onions.). The prices are very reasonable and the portions very generous! I had #15 (two tacos, rice and beans) one shredded chicken and one shredded beef (Piccadillo). It was very good and a lot of food. Usually not a fan of refried beans and rice, I found they were very tasty. The ambiance is festive and not too noisy(carpet dining room ).
I'm new in town and came based on the reviews. I'm glad I did. -
Its one of our favorite mexican restaurants..the food is awesome..the margarita's are super and the staff are feisty and fun..i highly recommend this restaurant..
-
Very friendly staff, great burrito and awesome prices
-
Good food and service! My watermelon margarita was tasty. The salsa is delicious and a little spicy.
-
Good Mexican cuisine with solid margaritas. We stopped in for a quick bite and the food was good with ample portions and good service. Not the best fajitas I've ever had but pretty dang good. The maragaritas were a solid 8/10 in gigantic glasses for an amazing price! The outdoor patio is a little rough if you want to sit outside but it was still better than nothing since we had a dog with us.
-
Great place and food from this family owned restuarant
-
I love this place and their food is highly authentic with a wonderful staff that is well experienced.
-
Very nice place to eat staff is always polite and service is quick and amazing food
-
They have fast and friendly service. The chili verde is amazing.
-
Authentic, delicious and great service!?
-
Always great food. Excellent customer service. Have been going to this restaurant for 18+ years. The atmosphere is very mellow and quiet. Great place to eat if you're looking to have a conversation.
-
Great food, pretty waitresses....mojito was a little weak...
-
Excellent service good food and dank drinks and desserts
-
Great service. Food was tasty and the drinks are very good! Try the strawberry pina colada!
-
We just had our company Christmas party booked here and it was great, the food and service were amazing!
-
Easy to see from street, clean very pleasant, service great, knowledgeable, prompt, will go again. Pictures later handicapp parking good.
-
This is a great Mexican restaurant. My wife and I both had excellent Mexican meals. The Arroyo con Pollo is very good. Service was great. The restaurant was not noisy and we were able to carry-on a conversation easily. Portions were ample. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
-
Go here! Looks a little sketchy from the main road but the food is delicious. Friendly service too. Average should be closer to 4.6 stars.
-
The food was amazing. Full of flavor and a lot of choices. This is now one of my favorites. It's a bit hard to see from the main road. Can't wait to go there again! Did I mention the staff was also very nice!
-
BEST restaurant in town. Very friendly with great food. Check it out. Best Mexican food in town. You'll never go anywhere else.
-
Such good salsa and good food. Enchiladas were so good and my wife's fajitas were also delicious. Plus she kept the chips and salsa coming the whole time. I ate way too much, the sign of an excellent dinner. So happy right now.
-
Good food. Prompt with refills, check, and box for left overs. Good for a date!
-
The food here was pretty good this is war a little bit high for what you got I paid it some other Mexican restaurants where you received a lot more food for that kind of price. Overall Beacon place
-
Been coming here for years! The fajitas are second to none and they are the only ones in the area that offer cabbage salsa!
-
Best Sushi in town! Don't pass this place up, you'll regret it.
-
First time here. Food is very authentic. Probably the best corn tortillas I have had at a Mexican restaurant. Service was spot on very attentive. Had the Cinco de Mayo platter enough food for two!
-
Previewed this place on Yelp and thought I'd give them a shot. I'm glad I did ! From the time I was seated till the time my order was in front of me was less than 10 minutes! I had my chips and awesome salsa and my drink within the 1st 5 minutes. I was probably only on my 6th chip when my chili relleno was steaming in front of me. The food was great, service was great and I got out of there cheaper than I expected. I'll be back !
-
Friendly staff and good food. But the prices are kind of spendy and their liquor prices are real spendy but very good mixed drinks.
-
Definitely a hidden gem. It is Americanized but it was really tasty. The service was polite and on point. My husband usually gets the chile rellano and I don't generally like it very much, but I may order it next time it was amazing!
-
Great food. Friendly service. I'll be back, for sure.
-
Great atmosphere terrific food and really super employees!
-
Great service great food great atmosphere this is a great place
-
The service was quick, and the food was good. They did well to keep up with the refills.
-
Delicious food, great service and cost. A must visit restaurant in the Columbia Mall area.
-
Chili Verde was excellent, Margarita was big enough to float a canoe.
-
Chose this restaraunt for a company dinner. The staff was very helpful always making sure everyone was taken care of and the prices were great. The best part though was the incredible food!!! We will definitely be coming here again!!!
-
Great food, entire full sized lunch special was taco and enchilada with rice and beans AND an iced tea for under $8. I was in and out in less than a half hour at 1 pm. Good service, great food can't beat the price.
-
it was wonderful,we r family and meeting up was fun and the food was great
-
Great authentic Mexican food ..the service was excellent and fast...
-
Food was excellent. Service was the best. The food was fresh and very good. A/C needs some work as the restrooms were extremely warm.
A family friendly environment.
-
I have been eating here for years, Ive never been disappointed. The servers are really polite. The food is great and it comes out quickly. It is also clean!
-
Really good. Had the chile verde. Chips and salsa had good spicy salsa. Original margarita was well balanced.
-
The food is delicious and the service is very friendly. The only downside is it's pricier than other similarly tasty Mexican restaurants (e.g. $5 for a bottle of Negro Modelo).
-
We have lots of pretty ok Mexican food in town, but this place is worth a try. I will definitely go back.
-
Excellent service. Food was DELICIOUS. Plenty of Chips and Salsa and the homemade tortillas will definitely have you coming back for more. The horchata was a little water down though. Other than that. Everything else was tasty! We're coming back soon for sure.
-
My husband and I have eaten here a couple of time now since moving back to Washington state. We have also tried a couple of other Mexican restaurants around kennewick and richland. None of the others compare to this place at all! I get the chili relleno off of their side menu and it's not only huge and delicious. But, it's not frozen and rubbery either. I will have a hard time venturing away from this place to try something new.
-
Always very pleasant and food is very good. I enjoy taking my family here.
-
This place is a tie for my favorite Mexican restaurant in Tri Cities! (tied with Inca on Leslie/Gage in Richland). The food is always wonderful, drinks are good, and service is always fast and friendly. Prices are average for a Mexican restaurant. I've gotten vegetarian burrito, cheese enchiladas, veggie fajitas, and nachos, and it's always perfect. Definitely recommend!
-
Great salsa! We went here for lunch when we were ata convention in Kennewick, and we all truly enjoyed our food.
-
We use to go here many times when it was Casa Chapala. Friendly wait staff, decent spices.... relaxing atmosphere.
-
My kids and I had great food that came with great service!
-
I don't know what it is about this place, but I LOVE it. Not the most authentic, mostly just cheap, fast Mexican food. But it is really good. I love the chicken burrito. Service is pretty good, sometimes they get overwhelmed if it is super busy, but for the most part I have been happy with it. Chips and salsa and bean dip included in every order. Mmmmm.
-
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant ever! The food is great. The service is great. They know their loyal customers and treat them wonderfully.
If by any chance you went there on cinco de mayo, you may have had less than the normal stellar service. I can honestly say I have never seen that place so packed, so don't judge them on that night!
-
Huge menu, awesome food, good prices...can't go wrong! I used to always get the fish tacos (they don't use frozen fish patties like most places, but actually use pieces of real fish) but recently started venturing out a bit and trying different items; I've yet to be disappointed.
Be aware, the number listed is actually for the Kennewick Casa Chapalla, not the Richland Chapala Express. Here's the number for Chapala Express +1 (509) 943-6589
-
The margaritas and appetizers are yummy and generously sized. I was just here yesterday with a group of about 30 and the service was superb!
-
Decent Mexican food, and they had good suggestions for a vegetarian dinner, which is unusual in a small town Mexican restaurant. A bit tricky to find, but worth it.
Their prices were reasonable, we were seated quickly, and the food was tasty.
-
Food was fantastic as always. Nice and fresh corn tortillas. Had the Chile Verde and it was excellent. Salsa is really good and just enough spice to appeal to the masses. I would prefer a littler spicier but most would find it very good. The server is the same person I have had every time and she is very nice and attentive.
I have been here more than 10 times and never had a single complaint. I am shocked that they are never busy.
-
Margaritas are big and tasty! The chips and salsa are plentiful and the meals delicious.
-
Delicious food. Salsa is amazing. Had the deluxe burrito (was on special). Was very good. Rice and beans seem healthier than other places, less greasy.
-
Cinco de mayo is literally my favorite Mexican family style restaurant in Tri cities. The cinco de mayo plate with a few cold dos Equis XX beers is to die for. Come hang out at the bar, chat with the owner fidencio and enjoy an amazing traditional meal!
If you live here locally, you realize the area is flooded with traditional family style Mexican restaurants. I doubt I will ever try more than about 15% of them all. That being said, of the ones I try or frequent, this is my favorite so I have rated it as such. I have a personal connection here so that probably helps, but I still have never had a bad meal, service or experience.
-
After a long day of lacrosse the team celebrated our wins plus our goalies birthday here before we headed back to Spokane. All the portions were generous and flavorful. I enjoyed a Cucumber Margarita that was amazing. Its location is hidden so maybe folks in Kennewick forget about it. If you have a large party this is a place to consider.
-
This is our go-to place for Mexican. It is usually quiet, has HUGE tables so big parties are never a problem and the service is great. Food is delicious, portions are HUGE too. :) When friends from out of town want Mexican food, this is where I recommend.
-
Really enjoyed the food and service here. We were given a basket of tortilla chips and some amazing salsa to start. I ordered 3 tacos (which was about 1 too many for me) and my husband got one of those bigger plates (which he also found too much, but finished the whole plate anyway because it was so good.) My soft tacos were delicious! My favourite's the steak taco! The steak pieces were good but the accompaniment in the taco was the delicious part (imo). We will definitely go back for some more!
We went in the daytime so we didn't try their margaritas but I've read great things here and will think about getting a group of friends to come and try them next time!

Love this place!!!! The molcajete de mariscos ROCKS gotta take it down with a Dos Equis. Padrino Lupe had some camarones con tocino he said they also ROCKED.
